Desert PACK Haworthias | Our selection for beginners.
€25,00
🌱Try starting your collection of these South African plants with our selection of the easiest Haworthias & Co. to grow in partial shade. Ideal for enjoying from fall through late spring. Then they take a summer nap...
❄️ Temperature — USDA 10a
They should be grown frost-free, preferably above 5 °C, and protected from cold, damp conditions. Although some Haworthias tolerate brief drops in temperature, this tolerance should not be assumed to apply to all cultivars.
☀️ Light
Bright, indirect light or bright partial shade. An indicative PAR DLI of 8–15 mol·m⁻²·day⁻¹ can be used as a starting point, adjusted according to the plant's response. Intense sun can cause leaf burn and excessive reddish coloration; insufficient light encourages open, less compact growth.
💧 Growth cycle and watering
Summer dormancy. As a general guideline for cultivation, water thoroughly during growth periods when the substrate is dry, and reduce watering during periods of intense heat. Avoid waterlogging and ensure good ventilation. Adjust watering frequency according to temperature, light, and how quickly the substrate actually dries.
🌸 Flowering
They produce an elongated inflorescence with small, whitish, tubular-looking flowers featuring greenish bands, characteristic of the genus.
🌿 Nutrition
We recommend Desert CHOICE® Aloes, Haworthias & Co., NPK 3-2-8 with calcium and magnesium, during the active growing period. Reduce or stop fertilizing during summer dormancy, and avoid high salt concentrations.
