Description
MERCEDES GARCÍA was born in Madrid in 1962.
She studied pharmacy and has always been passionate about
the most drought-resistant plants: cacti and all
xerophytic plants. While developing her professional career
in different multinational pharmaceutical companies,
she cultivated these plants as a hobby. Thus, she combined her travels for
work around the world with the constant search and
learning about the plants that inhabit the arid and semi-arid
regions of the planet.
Finally, on the verge of fifty, she returned to
university to graduate as an agricultural engineer,
with the purpose of discovering the most advanced agronomic
and technological aspects of their cultivation and researching
how to use them in the recreation of landscapes and green
spaces that represent true water, resource,
and maintenance savings in our latitudes.
She currently shares her knowledge with people
who love and respect nature and dedicates herself to
xeriscaping, creating truly sustainable gardens,
through her great project: Desert CITY.
