COMPOSITION. Product based on Trichoderma harzianum, a fungus that promotes growth and increases plant resistance against stress caused by diseases and inadequate fertilization, irrigation, and/or climatic conditions. Trichoderma harzianum with spore powder: 1.15% w/w. Inert ingredients: 98.85% w/w. Trichoderma harzianum: 1 billion spores per gram.
MECHANISM OF ACTION: Trichoderma harzianum is a saprobic fungus that feeds primarily on organic materials in the soil or substrate. It does not associate with plant roots, but it occupies the substrate homogeneously if it has adequate proportions of ingredients such as peat, coconut fiber, compost, wood fiber, etc. It colonizes the space and prevents the proliferation of pathogenic fungi through competition. But if the substrate is contaminated by spores of certain oomycetes (pseudo-fungi) such as the genus Pythium or Phytophthora, or by true fungi such as Verticillium or Fusarium, Trichoderma harzianum has a preference for them, attacking and feeding on the pathogens and effectively eradicating them from the rhizosphere. It therefore behaves as a BIOFUNGICIDE.
Furthermore, Trichoderma harzianum releases metabolites that are antagonistic to pathogen development and induces defense mechanisms in plants against infection and the spread of the pathogen.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE. Apply during transplanting or before and after winter dormancy (October or March). Water abundantly after application or apply directly with irrigation water.
Dosage:
1. During transplanting: mix 25 g of product per 10 liters of substrate.
2. In aqueous suspension: Incorporate 75 g into 10 liters of water, shake, and water with an approximate amount of 150 ml per pot. Although this could cause this fungus to grow only on the surface of the substrate.
3. MOST RECOMMENDED: If the plant is already established in the substrate and it is not time for transplanting, it can be effectively incorporated by injecting it into the substrate with a pastry or maceration syringe. The dose here should not exceed 2.5 grams for a pot containing a volume of 1 liter of substrate (10x10x11 cm pot). Suspend the calculated dose, proportional to the volume of the pot, in water (between 20 to 50 ml of water). Shake well and inject 2-4 cm deep into the root zone. For use in home gardening.
PRECAUTIONS. Wash hands after handling and avoid breathing dust derived from the product. Product not intended for ingestion. In case of ingestion, consult a doctor. In case of an allergic reaction, treat the symptoms and consult a doctor. Keep out of reach of children.
RECOMMENDATIONS. Apply when the soil temperature exceeds 8ºC. Store in cool, dry conditions. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Once dissolved in water, the mixture should be applied within a maximum of 6 hours. Do not store leftover liquid.
