The Desert SOIL ® Cactaceae substrate has the appropriate properties for the development of all your succulent plants: a light texture that allows excess water to be evacuated together with a small organic fraction that favors nutrient retention and adequate rooting.

COMPOSITION. Product made from Trichoderma harzianum strain T22, a fungus that promotes growth and increases the resistance of plants to stress caused by diseases and conditions not suitable for fertilization, irrigation and/or weather. Trichoderma harzianum strain T22 spore powder: 1.15% w/w. Inert ingredients: 98.85% w/w. Trichoderma harzianum strain T22: 1.5 x 10E + 8 spores per gram.
HOW TO USE. Application at transplant or before and after winter rest (October or March). Water abundantly after application or apply directly with irrigation water.
Dose: 1. In transplant: mix 7.5 g of product per 10 liters of substrate. 2. In aqueous suspension: Add 75 g to 10 liters of water, shake and water with an approximate amount of 150 ml per pot. It can also be incorporated by injecting it into the substrate with a pastry syringe. Use in home gardening.
PRECAUTIONS. Wash your hands after handling and avoid breathing dust derived from the product. Product not intended for ingestion. If swallowed, consult a doctor. In case of an allergic reaction, treat the symptoms and consult a doctor. Keep out of the reach of children.
RECOMMENDATIONS. Apply when the soil temperature exceeds 8ºC. Store under cool, dry conditions. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Once dissolved in water, the mixture should be applied within a maximum of 6 hours. Do not save the excess liquid.

The bottom of your pots is more important than you imagine, it conditions the development of healthy and vigorous roots.
The purpose of drainage holes is: ✔️Evacuate excess water after watering so that the substrate quickly reaches what we call “Water capacity of the pot”. ✔️Allow the fair aeration of the roots that each plant needs.
Cacti and other succulents need : 📌Substrates with a porosity of 80% and an aeration capacity of around 30%. 📌AND THEY LOVE living in pots with bottoms profiled with multiple openings and DIFFERENT LEVELS OF AERATION.
Plastic pots are used by the main large producers of cacti and succulents that are located in arid areas in Spain, allowing them optimal growth with less consumption of water, fertilizers and time. And in cactus nurseries around the world the ideal container is the non-porous one.
This mineral is highly porous, allowing it to store about 40% of its weight in moisture, ensuring water supply under adverse conditions. It facilitates root aeration, reducing substrate compaction, without promoting the accumulation of salts or altering the pH over time. It has a characteristic bluish-white color.
It is a mineral component ACTIVE , since it has a high cationic exchange capacity similar to clays (phyllosilicates) but without the compaction drawbacks of these. Its use in growing substrate mixtures is very recent. It is never used in a proportion greater than 15% by volume in the final mixture. In the cultivation of cacti and succulents, it is the one with the greatest reserve water due to its open intraparticle micropores. It is also capable of ad absorb volatile organic compounds.

Arlite or expanded clay is a very light ceramic aggregate manufactured by heating pieces of clay in a rotary kiln at approximately 1200°C. In the lower layer we recommend placing a layer of Arlite, it is an expanded clay that promotes drainage, preventing rotting of the plant due to excess water.
When the apices of the roots collide with the Arlite, growth is slowed and the roots bifurcate, making the root network larger throughout the entire substrate , instead of the roots ending up emerging from the bottom of the pot. In addition, it prevents the substrate from being lost through the drainage holes and has a thermal cushioning effect.

It is a component with intraparticle pores and very light that floats in water. These micropores are capable of trapping and retaining water that is strongly retained by adhesion forces, making water, therefore, hardly available to most plants. Sand-sized material, the result of the weathering or degradation of the mineral called quartz from a metamorphic rock known as quartzite whose essential chemical composition is ONLY Silicon Oxide (SiO2), which is known as SILICE .
