🌿 Morphology: Bushy succulent with erect, branched, and partially woody stems that can reach over 1 m. At the ends, it forms large rosettes of fleshy, obovate, and generally green leaves, although cultivated forms with very variable coloration exist. The roots are relatively thin and branched; in dry conditions, it can develop aerial roots on the stems.

🌍 Origin and habitat: Family Crassulaceae. Native to the Canary Islands and southwestern Morocco. It grows in ravines, cliffs, hillsides, and rock walls, from coastal areas to mountainous regions, thriving in environments with mild winters and mainly seasonal rains.

🌡️ Temperature: Approximately USDA 9b–11b. It tolerates low temperatures and brief periods near 0 °C when dry, but for safe cultivation, we recommend keeping it above 5 °C, avoiding prolonged frosts. In Spain, it can be grown outdoors in many mild Mediterranean and Atlantic areas.

☀️ Light: During active growth, we recommend an approximate DLI of 15–25 mol·m⁻²·day⁻¹ of PAR. It needs good light intensity to form compact rosettes and maintain balanced architecture. In summer, during dormancy, it is advisable to avoid excessive radiation combined with very high temperatures.

💧 Watering and dormancy: It is primarily summer dormant. Its period of greatest activity usually occurs from autumn to spring. During growth, water abundantly and allow the substrate to dry completely before watering again. As temperatures increase and its activity decreases, space out waterings. During the summer, it can be kept almost dry, especially with high temperatures.

🌸 Flowering: Produces large terminal inflorescences with numerous golden yellow flowers. Flowering is most likely during late winter and spring. Rosettes that flower are monocarpic and die after flowering, although the plant usually retains numerous lateral branches.

🧪 Nutrition: During autumn, winter, and spring, coinciding with its active growth, fertilize with Desert CHOICE at a moderate and regular dose. Gradually reduce fertilization as summer approaches and suspend it during summer dormancy.
