🌱 Morphology
    Low-growing, branched succulent with fleshy stems that spread and may trail over the edge of the pot. It reaches approximately 10–15 cm in height and can form clumps of considerable width. Its leaves are short, cylindrical, and rounded, resembling small beans. The variegation combines pale green, cream, pink, and coral, with coloring that changes according to light and temperature. The lighter areas have less chlorophyll than the green ones, which makes this cultivar grow more slowly and be more delicate than the typical form.

🌍 Origin, genealogy, and family
Horticultural cultivar of Sedum × rubrotinctum, a hybrid of cultivated origin belonging to the Crassulaceae family. The genealogy of the hybrid is usually attributed to the cross Sedum stahlii × Sedum pachyphyllum, although this is not conclusively confirmed. ‘Aurora’ is grown for its variegation and does not have a natural distribution of its own. It also appears in some sources under the name ‘Vera Higgins’.

USDA 9b: −3.9 °C. This is the lower limit of the climate zone, not a guaranteed minimum temperature for this variegated cultivar. Due to its lower chlorophyll content, it is advisable to protect it from frost and cold, damp periods.

☀️ Lighting
Bright partial shade, with a reference DLI PAR of 10–18 mol·m⁻²·day⁻¹. It needs plenty of light to maintain a compact form and intense coloration, but strong direct sun can burn the cream and pink areas. Gentle morning sun and gradual acclimatization are recommended.

💧 Growth cycle and watering
Opportunistic. During active growth, it is recommended to water thoroughly and allow the substrate to dry out before the next watering. In cold periods or during slow growth, water intake should be reduced. The stems and leaves store water, so it tolerates brief drought better than waterlogging. The substrate must be aerated and fast-draining.

🌸 Flowering
It can produce small star-shaped yellow flowers, grouped in terminal inflorescences, mainly from spring to summer. In cultivation, flowering can be scarce, and the ornamental interest lies primarily in the variegated foliage. No reliable data is available to specify the age of first flowering, self-fertility, or the presence of multiple flowering pulses in the same season.

During the active growth period, Desert CHOICE® Succulents is recommended, applied after watering. Before flowering, it can be supplemented with Desert CHOICE® Flowering. Fertilizing is not recommended during winter dormancy.
