🌱 Morphology
A branched, semi-trailing hybrid with fleshy stems that can exceed 25 cm in length and arch over to hang over the edge of the pot. The leaves are very thick, elongated, and cylindro-clavate, with rounded tips, arranged in compact rosettes on young shoots and more spaced out on mature stems. Their color changes from grey-green to pink, magenta, burgundy, or wine-red tones, especially on new shoots and under intense light. The farina gives them a matte finish. The leaves of the older stems may fall off easily.
🌍 Origin, genealogy, and family
Horticultural cultivar of unknown origin and breeder, belonging to the Crassulaceae family. The name × Pachysedum designates intergeneric hybrids between Pachyphytum and Sedum. The cross Pachyphytum viride× Sedum craigii has been proposed for ‘Ganzhou’, but it is not confirmed. As a cultivated hybrid, it has no natural distribution of its own.

USDA 10a: −1.1 °C. This value is the lower limit of the climate zone, not a guarantee of the cultivar's hardiness. As a precaution, it is recommended to protect it from frost and avoid the combination of cold and wet substrate.
☀️ Lighting
Full sun, with gradual acclimatization. As a reference, a DLI PAR of 15–25 mol·m⁻²·day⁻¹ is recommended. Abundant light promotes burgundy and magenta coloration; with insufficient light, the leaves may remain greener and the stems may elongate. During heatwaves, sudden exposure to intense sun should be avoided.
💧 Growth cycle and watering
Opportunistic. Growth depends on temperature and water availability, and may slow down during extreme heat or cold. It is recommended to water thoroughly and let the substrate dry before the next watering. During periods of slow growth, watering is spaced out. It needs an airy, fast-draining substrate, without waterlogging.
🌸 Flowering
It may produce elongated inflorescences with small, clustered flowers in pink tones. Flowering is less documented than its vegetative morphology.
🌿 Nutrition
During the active growth period, Desert CHOICE® Succulents is recommended, applied after watering. Before flowering, it can be supplemented with Desert CHOICE® Flowering. During winter dormancy, fertilization is not recommended.
