š Known asĀ living stones. Succulent with two fleshy leaves that look like "stones." Lithops karasmontana is a relatively large species within the genus. It has a convex truncated profile and, when viewed from above, has an elliptical reniform shape. Slightly rough to the touch with a fairly deep central fissure. Windows partially closed by islands. Colors vary widely within the species.
š Native to southern Namibia. The reference locality is in the Great Karas Mountains. In this region, rain primarily occurs in spring. It belongs to the family Aizoaceae.
š”ļøUSDA ZONE 8b - 10a. Can tolerate light frosts. The minimum recommended temperature is -2ĀŗC. In winter, the substrate should remain dry.
āļøFor healthy, stress-free growth, it needs partial shade or a PAR radiation intensity of 20 to 25 moles of photons daily.
šø Large central white flowers. Blooms between October and November.
š§Watering begins in spring as soon as the plant undergoes its annual molt and the old leaves are reabsorbed. When high summer temperatures arrive between July and August, they enter ecodormancy, and watering should be stopped. Watering restarts in September and continues until the end of the flowering period. In November, watering is completely stopped to facilitate winter dormancy. Always let the substrate dry out between waterings.
