🔍 Known as Living Stones. Succulent with two fleshy leaves resembling "stones." Lithops karasmontana is a relatively large species within its genus. It has a convex truncated profile and, when viewed from above, is elliptical to kidney-shaped. Slightly rough to the touch with a fairly deep central fissure. Windows partially closed by islands. Colors are highly variable within the species.
📍 Native to southern Namibia. The reference location is in the Great Karas Mountains. In this region, rain primarily falls in spring. It belongs to the family Aizoaceae.
🌡️USDA ZONE 8b - 10a. Can tolerate light frosts. The recommended minimum temperature is -2ºC. In winter, the substrate should remain dry.
☀️For healthy, stress-free growth, it needs partial shade or a PAR radiation intensity of 20 to 25 moles of photons daily.
🌸 Large central white flowers. Blooms between October and November.
💧Watering begins in spring as soon as the plant undergoes its annual molt and the old leaves are reabsorbed. When high summer temperatures arrive between July and August, they enter eco-dormancy and watering should be stopped. Watering resumes in September and continues until the end of the flowering period. In November, watering is completely stopped to facilitate winter dormancy. Always allow the substrate to dry out between waterings.
