Haworthia 'AR-1 Comman' | Carved Jade Windows
€31,80
🌱 Morphology
Japanese collector's hybrid selected for the large size of the plant and the beauty of its leaf windows. It combines the ornamental appeal of Haworthia comptoniana and Haworthia maughanii, two species prized for their fleshy leaves and translucent surfaces. Their windows can display linear and reticulated patterns that gain depth in the light, creating a carved jade effect. The exact shape of the leaves, the intensity of the pattern, and the degree of transparency can vary between specimens; it is best not to attribute an identical pattern to all clones marketed under this name.
🌍 Origin, habitat, and family
Japanese horticultural hybrid cultivar, obtained from the cross Haworthia comptoniana × Haworthia maughanii. It does not correspond to a wild population or an independent botanical species. Family Asphodelaceae · Tribe Alooideae· Genus Haworthia.
❄️ Temperature — USDA 10a
It is recommended to preferably keep it above 5 °C and protect it from frost, especially when the substrate is moist. Ventilation and drainage are essential during cold periods.
☀️ Lighting
Abundant indirect light or bright partial shade. As an initial reference, a PAR DLI of 8–15 mol·m⁻²·day⁻¹ is recommended, adjusting it to the plant's response. Soft light helps appreciate the translucent windows; intense sun can cause burns and deteriorate their appearance.
💧 Growth cycle and watering
Summer dormancy. It is recommended to water thoroughly during active growth and let the substrate dry before watering again. During intense heat, it is advisable to reduce watering and improve ventilation, avoiding both prolonged dehydration and persistent moisture around the roots.
🌸 Flowering
It can produce an elongated inflorescence with small whitish and greenish flowers, characteristic of the genus. No specific flowering season or exclusive floral characteristic of this cultivar has been confirmed.
🌿 Nutrition
It is recommended to use Desert CHOICE® Aloes, Haworthias & Co., NPK 3-2-8 with calcium and magnesium, during active growth. It is advisable to reduce or suspend fertilization during summer dormancy and avoid the accumulation of salts in the substrate.
