🌱 Morphology
Compact horticultural hybrid that forms dense rosettes approximately 8–12 cm in diameter and reaches about 10–15 cm in height. Its leaves are thick, fleshy, triangular, and end in a pronounced point. They display very dark grey-green shades, charcoal grey, and, under certain lighting conditions, almost black purple hues. The coloration intensifies with abundant light, while a lack of light can cause more open and less compact growth. Its dark and sculptural appearance contrasts especially well with succulents in silver or light tones.
🌍 Distribution, habitat and family
Horticultural cultivar with no natural distribution of its own. It is marketed as a hybrid between Graptopetalum and Echeveria, but the identity of its parent plants has not been confirmed. Crassulaceae family, notogenerus ×Graptoveria.
❄️ Temperature
USDA 10a (−1.1 °C) as a conservative cultivation reference, not as a guarantee of hardiness. It is recommended to protect it from frost and damp cold, especially when the substrate remains wet.
☀️ Lighting
Full sun, with gradual acclimatization. Indicative PAR DLI of 15–25 mol·m⁻²·day⁻¹. Intense lighting promotes compact growth and dark tones. In summer, it is advisable to avoid the most scorching sun during heatwaves to prevent sunburn.
💧 Growth cycle and watering
Opportunistic. During active growth, it is recommended to water thoroughly and let the substrate dry out completely before the next watering. In winter, watering should be spaced out, especially at low temperatures. Waterlogging and water accumulation between the leaves must be avoided.
🌸 Flowering
The color of its flowers and the usual flowering season have not been able to be verified from reliable sources.
🌿 Nutrition
During the active growth period, Desert CHOICE® Succulents is recommended, applied after watering. Before flowering, it can be supplemented with Desert CHOICE® Flowering. Fertilizing is not recommended during the winter dormancy period.
