Echeveria ‘Parva’ x E. ‘Rain Drops’ | Echeveria ‘Silver Drops’
€10,60
🌱 Morphology
A compact rosette hybrid that combines the relatively small size and fleshy leaves of ‘Parva’ with the most striking ornamental feature of ‘Rain Drops’: the fleshy bumps or caruncles that appear in the center of some leaves. These elevations, resembling solidified water droplets, can vary in size and prominence depending on the specimen and growing conditions. The leaves are typically thick, with bluish-green or grayish tones, with possible pink, reddish, or violet hues on the edges when receiving ample light. The shape and relief of the rosette can vary between specimens.
🌍 Distribution, habitat and family
It is a horticultural hybrid, not a wild species. It is marketed as a cross between Echeveria ‘Parva’ and Echeveria ‘Rain Drops’, and some sources attribute its creation to hybridizer Dick Wright. It belongs to the Crassulaceae family.
❄️ Temperature
USDA 9b: −3.9 °C. This value corresponds to the lower climatic limit of the USDA zone, not a guaranteed minimum temperature for this hybrid. It is recommended to protect it from frost, especially if the substrate is damp.
☀️ Lighting
Full sun, with a guideline reference of DLI PAR 20–30 mol·m⁻²·day⁻¹. Abundant light promotes compact growth and can intensify the reddish tones, in addition to enhancing the relief of the caruncles. It is recommended to acclimate it progressively to direct sun.
💧 Growth cycle and watering
Winter dormancy. Growth is most active during the temperate seasons. It is recommended to water thoroughly and let the substrate dry out before the next watering. In winter, water intake is significantly reduced, avoiding waterlogging and persistent moisture between the leaves.
🌸 Flowering
Like other echeverias, it can produce flower stalks with bell-shaped flowers in warm tones, usually reddish or orange with yellow tips.
🌿 Nutrition
During the active growth period, Desert CHOICE® Succulents is recommended, applied after watering. Before flowering, it can be supplemented with Desert CHOICE® Flowering. Fertilizing is not recommended during winter dormancy.
