€7,95
🌱 Morphology
A compact and extraordinarily floriferous hybrid by John Bleck, selected from his number 1372A. It forms rosettes of long, narrow, slightly curved dark green leaves, covered with irregular white spots on both sides. The margins feature short but highly visible whitish teeth. Its appearance combines the delicacy of its maculated leaves with an exceptionally abundant bloom.
🌍 Origin, genealogy, and family
Family Asphodelaceae, tribe Alooideae. A horticultural hybrid created by John Bleck in California in the early 1980s. Its genetic formula is documented as (Aloe descoingsii × A. parvula) × (A. albiflora × A. bellatula). All four parents are aloes from Madagascar, responsible for both its small size and its extraordinary flowering capacity. It was introduced by International Succulent Introductions as ISI 2008-9.
❄️ Temperature — USDA 10a
It tolerates minimum temperatures down to approximately 0 °C for short periods and in dry conditions. Due to its predominantly Malagasy ancestry, it is recommended to protect it from frost and cold humidity.
☀️ Lighting
High light–soft sun, avoiding sudden changes in exposure. Intense lighting keeps the rosettes compact and enhances the contrast between the dark green of the leaves and their white spots. An approximate DLI PAR of 20–30 mol/m²/day is recommended.
💧 Growth cycle and watering
Summer dormancy. During the hottest weeks, it is recommended to space out watering significantly, allowing the substrate to dry out completely. During active growth, it can be watered abundantly, always with rapid drainage and without maintaining constant moisture.
🌸 Flowering
This is one of the great attractions of this hybrid: it was selected precisely for its near-continuous flowering throughout the year. It produces thin, erect inflorescences with narrowly bell-shaped pink flowers with white tips. The extraordinary floriferousness comes especially from Aloe descoingsii and A. parvula, while the flower shape combines characteristics of A. albiflora and A. bellatula.
🌿 Nutrition
During the active growth period, Desert CHOICE® Aloes, Haworthias & Co. is recommended, with a high content of potassium and bioavailable calcium. It is applied with watering, reducing or suspending fertilization during summer dormancy.
9x9 cm gourmet black pot
This is an inimitable xerophyte grown in Madrid in a technological square pot with the substrate activated with mycorrhizal fungi and biofungicides.
