        🌱 Morphology
It is an arborescent Aloe with a single stem that can reach 2–3 m, exceptionally up to 4–5 m. It forms a dense rosette of lanceolate, fleshy leaves, matte green, bluish-green, or with reddish tones. The leaves can reach 1 m in length and have large, triangular, reddish or reddish-brown teeth on the margins; in young specimens, scattered spines also appear on both sides. Dry leaves remain attached to the trunk, forming a characteristic "skirt."

🌍 Distribution, habitat, and family: It is native to South Africa and Lesotho, from the Cape provinces to the Free State and Lesotho. It lives in a wide variety of environments: rocky slopes, outcrops, fynbos, grasslands, scrubland, and areas near the Karoo. It belongs to the family Asphodelaceae.

❄️ Temperature/USDA zones: It is considered suitable for USDA 9b–11, although some sources place it from 9a. Below about −4 °C, it can suffer significant leaf damage. In Madrid, it is advisable to protect it from hard frosts and, above all, to keep it dry during cold spells.

        ☀️ Lighting:

During active growth, it needs full sun and an approximate PAR DLI of 18–25 mol·m⁻²·day⁻¹. High light favors a compact rosette and better coloration.

💧 Growth cycle and watering: It exhibits primarily opportunistic growth, conditioned by temperature, water, and geographical origin, although in Mediterranean cultivation it usually shows greater activity from autumn to spring. It is recommended to water abundantly and allow the substrate to dry completely. During very hot summers and cold winters, watering should be reduced. Cold combined with persistent humidity increases the risk of rot.

        🌸 Flowering:

It produces a spectacular branched, erect, candelabra-like inflorescence, normally with 5–8 racemes densely covered with flowers. The color varies from yellow and orange to intense red. In its natural habitat, it flowers mainly between May and August, and can be delayed until September in cold areas; in cultivation in Spain, it can be observed from late winter.
