🌱 Morphology
Small, slow-growing hybrid Aloe that forms compact rosettes approximately 8–15 cm in diameter, clustering over time into dense clumps. Its leaves are narrow, lanceolate, and fleshy, ranging in color from silvery green to silvery gray, speckled with small white spots and featuring fine, whitish teeth along the margins. The surface takes on an attractive metallic sheen under intense lighting. It can produce numerous offsets and, exceptionally, new shoots on the flower stalks themselves.

🌍 Distribution, habitat, and family
It is a complex horticultural hybrid by John Bleck: Aloe rauhii × ((Aloe descoingsii × Aloe calcairophila) × Aloe bellatula). Its four progenitors are aloes native to Madagascar, but ‘Quick Silver’ does not have its own natural distribution or habitat. It belongs to the Asphodelaceae family.

❄️ Temperature
USDA 10a–11b. For cultivation in Spain, we recommend keeping it above 8 ºC, especially when in a pot. It can tolerate occasional lower temperatures if kept completely dry and protected, but we do not recommend exposing it to frost. For a slow-growing and compact plant, it is better to err on the side of caution regarding cold.

☀️ Lighting
During growth, 20–30 mol·m⁻²·day⁻¹ of DLI PAR. It needs plenty of light to maintain its compact form and enhance the silvery tones of the leaves. It tolerates mild sun and very intense light, but in Madrid, it is advisable to protect it from the strongest direct sun during the central hours of summer, especially after a period of insufficient acclimatization.

💧 Growth cycle
It has an opportunistic growth habit, growing when temperatures are favorable and slowing down in intense cold or extreme heat. Water abundantly and let the substrate dry out completely before the next watering. During winter and heatwaves, space out waterings considerably and always maintain excellent drainage.

🌸 Flowering
It produces relatively short inflorescences, approximately 15–25 cm, with tubular flowers in a coral pink to orange hue. The exact flowering time is not sufficiently documented to assign a specific month. A particularly curious aspect of this hybrid is that it can produce offsets in the axils of the bracts of the inflorescences themselves.

🌿 Nutrition
