Aloe 'Bronze Lizard'
€7,95
🌱 Morphology: Compact hybrid that forms rosettes of lanceolate and fleshy leaves, dark green, with numerous teeth on the margins and a striking pattern of light green, almost whitish spots and stripes. With plenty of light, it can develop bronze tones. It produces pups and can form clumps over time.
🌍 Distribution, habitat, and family: It is a horticultural hybrid, so it has no natural distribution or habitat of its own. Its specific parentage is not reliably documented. It belongs to the family Asphodelaceae.
❄️ Temperature: Approximately USDA 10a–11b. For cultivation in Spain, I recommend keeping it above 5 °C, although some commercial sources indicate occasional tolerance around 3 °C. In a pot, cold combined with humidity should be avoided.
☀️ Lighting: Approximate target of 20–30 mol·m⁻²·day⁻¹ of PAR DLI during growth. It needs plenty of light to maintain its pattern and coloration, but in Madrid, it is advisable to protect it from direct sun during the most intense hours of summer and acclimate it progressively.
💧 Growth cycle: Opportunistic, with activity during temperate and warm periods, although it can slow down with extreme temperatures. During the active period, water abundantly and let the substrate dry completely before the next watering. In summer, space out watering when the heat is intense; during cold winter, reduce it considerably.
🌸 Flowering: The flowering of this cultivar is poorly documented and it is not advisable to assign it a specific month. If it reaches maturity, it can produce the characteristic tubular inflorescences of Aloes.
🌿 Nutrition: During active growth, use Desert CHOICE® Aloes, Haworthia & Co., specifically formulated for these plants and especially adapted to their needs for calcium and potassium. Reduce or suspend fertilization during periods of slowdown.
