Aeonium pseudotabuliforme
€37,10
🌱 Morphology: A low-growing to shrubby hybrid, reaching about 30–50 cm, forming numerous large, very flat, and densely clustered rosettes. The leaves are fleshy, spatulate, smooth, and glossy, dark green, and arranged in rosettes that superficially resemble Aeonium tabuliforme. Unlike this species, it develops branched stems and numerous lateral rosettes, eventually forming a very dense clump.
🌍 Distribution and Habitat: It is an old horticultural hybrid, published by Robert Foster and Charlie Glass in 1977, whose exact origin is not documented. It has traditionally been considered a possible cross Aeonium arboreum × A. canariense, but this parentage is not confirmed, and some specialized sources consider that the name has been historically used inconsistently. It belongs to the family Crassulaceae.
❄️ Hardiness: USDA approximately 9b–11b. For cultivation in Spain, we recommend keeping it above 5 °C, especially in pots and with moist substrate. It can tolerate drops close to 0 °C when dry, but we do not recommend frost.
☀️ Lighting: Approximate target of 15–25 mol·m⁻²·day⁻¹ DLI-PAR during growth. Tolerates from bright semi-shade to direct sun, although good lighting keeps the rosettes more compact. In Madrid, it should be protected from extreme sun and intense summer heat.
💧 Cycle and Watering: Growth mainly during autumn, winter, and spring, with a slowdown during summer. During the active period, water thoroughly and allow the substrate to dry completely before the next watering. During summer heat, significantly reduce watering and avoid persistent humidity.
🌸 Flowering: Produces inflorescences with small light yellow flowers. As with many Aeonium, the rosette that flowers may subsequently die, although this plant produces abundant lateral rosettes that allow the specimen to be preserved.
🌿 Nutrition: During the growth period, Desert CHOICE at a moderate dose. Reduce or suspend fertilization during the summer slowdown.
