Haworthia 'Bradgate' | Silver-green window Haworthia
€21,20
🌱 Morphology
A collector's cultivar that develops compact rosettes of fleshy, triangular leaves with pronounced tips. The leaves have a silvery-green hue and surfaces with raised epidermal bumps, olive-green to brown in color, which provide contrast and texture. Its ornamental appearance depends on the combination of the light background of the leaves and their darker bumps. The exact shape of the rosette, the intensity of the coloration, and the development of the bumps may vary with age and growing conditions. No parental formula has been confirmed that would allow it to be attributed to a specific hybrid origin.
🌍 Origin, habitat, and family
‘Bradgate’ is a horticultural name documented in Joyce Cocozza's historical collection, compiled by the Haworthia Society. This reference confirms its presence in specialized cultivation, but does not allow its original breeder, genealogy, or a specific wild locality to be established with certainty. As it is a cultivar, it should not be assigned a specific natural habitat without additional documentation.
Family Asphodelaceae · Tribe Alooideae · Genus Haworthia.
❄️ Temperature — USDA 10a
It is advisable to keep it above 0°C and protect it from frost, especially when the substrate is moist. It tolerates warm temperatures if it has ventilation and protection from intense sun.
☀️ Lighting
Abundant filtered light or bright partial shade. Gradual exposure promotes compact growth; sudden intense sun can cause burns and alter the coloration of the leaves. Approximate PAR DLI: 8–15 mol·m⁻²·day⁻¹.
💧 Growth cycle and watering
Summer dormancy. During the cooler seasons, water thoroughly and allow the substrate to dry before watering again. In summer, reduce watering during periods of extreme heat and maintain good ventilation. Avoid waterlogging and do not keep the roots moist for prolonged periods.
🌸 Flowering
It produces a slender, elongated inflorescence with small whitish tubular flowers, characteristic of the genus. Its main ornamental appeal lies in the triangular shape of the leaves and the contrast of its epidermal bumps.
🌿 Nutrition
During the active growth period, Desert CHOICE® Aloes, Haworthias & Co. is recommended, with an NPK 3-2-8 formulation and calcium and magnesium. Apply with water following the product instructions and reduce or suspend fertilization during summer dormancy.
