🌱 Morphology
A slow-growing succulent hybrid that forms a compact, generally solitary rosette, approximately 15 cm in diameter and up to 15–30 cm in height. The leaves are very thick, fleshy, elongated, and lanceolate, ending in a defined point, and remain upright, forming an open structure similar to a lotus. They have a fine pruina that provides a frosted appearance. The coloration varies from bluish-green and greenish-gray to yellowish-green, developing purplish-red, maroon, or purple hues when exposed to intense lighting and cool temperatures.
🌍 Distribution, habitat and family
Crassulaceae family. It is a horticultural hybrid created by Steve Super in 2013, the result of crossing Crassula alba var. parvisepala × Crassula perfoliata var. minor. Therefore, it has no natural population or specific geographical distribution. Its unique architecture combines the rosette and thick leaves of its parents, resulting in a plant very different from the columnar Crassula with tiny leaves.
❄️ Temperature
USDA Zone 9b–11b. It can withstand drops near −4 °C for short periods if it remains completely dry, although it should not be considered resistant to prolonged frosts. With low temperatures, it is recommended to reduce or suspend watering.
☀️ Lighting
Intense lighting is recommended, with a target of 15–25 mol·m⁻²·day⁻¹ of DLI PAR. High lighting promotes a compact habit and the appearance of the characteristic maroon and purple hues. It can receive direct sun after progressive acclimatization, but during episodes of extreme heat, it is advisable to use filtered light to avoid burns and heat stress.
💧 Growth cycle and watering
As a horticultural hybrid, it does not have its own natural climatic cycle. Its growth is favored by moderate temperatures and good lighting, while it may slow down during periods of intense heat. During active growth, it is recommended to water abundantly and allow the substrate to dry completely before the next watering. When temperatures drop or a summer slowdown occurs due to extreme heat, watering should be spaced out considerably. During the cold winter, it is recommended to keep it practically dry.
🌸 Flowering
It produces a tall inflorescence that emerges from the center of the rosette and can reach approximately 10–12.5 cm. The flowers appear grouped in large clusters and are red, forming a striking contrast with the maroon foliage. Flowering occurs mainly during the spring, although in cultivation it may vary according to temperature and light conditions.

During the active growth period, Desert CHOICE® Succulents is recommended, applied after watering and always respecting the complete drying of the substrate. Before flowering, Desert CHOICE® Flowering can be used.
