🔍 Known as Living stones. A succulent with two fleshy leaves that resemble "stones." Lithops karasmontana is a relatively large species within the genus. It has a convex truncated profile and an elliptical reniform shape when viewed from above. Slightly rough to the touch with a fairly deep central fissure. Windows partially closed by islands. Colors vary greatly within the species.
📍 Native to southern Namibia. The reference locality is in the Great Karas Mountains. In this region, rain primarily falls in spring. It belongs to the family Aizoaceae.
🌡️USDA ZONE 8b - 10a. Can tolerate light frosts. The recommended minimum temperature is -2ºC. In winter, they should remain with dry substrate.
☀️For healthy, stress-free growth, it needs partial shade or a PAR radiation intensity between 20 to 25 moles of photons daily.
🌸 Large central white flowers. Blooms between October and November.
💧Watering begins in spring as soon as the plant completes its annual shedding and old leaves are reabsorbed. When high summer temperatures arrive between July and August, they enter eco-dormancy and watering should be stopped. Watering restarts in September and continues until the end of the flowering period. In November, watering is completely stopped to facilitate winter rest. Always let the substrate dry between waterings.
