🔍 Characteristic white striped pattern of thin transverse bands that contrasts with its dark green leaves. Its hard leaves store water to overcome drought periods.
📍 Succulent distributed throughout the Eastern Cape region near Port Elizabeth in the Republic of South Africa. It belongs to the Alooideae tribe within the Asphodelaceae family.
🌡️USDA ZONE 10a. Tolerates light frosts with temperatures down to -1ºC. Rainfall in this region is more frequent in summer.
☀️For healthy and stress-free growth, it needs partial shade or a PAR radiation intensity greater than 20 moles of daily photons.
🌸 Small, white, bilabiate flowers. It blooms several times per season starting at 3-4 years old when temperature and water access conditions are adequate.
💧It is an opportunist. It can be watered all year round, always letting the substrate dry out between waterings. It does not go dormant in summer like its cousins, the Haworthias.
