🌱 Morphology
 A small, very compact succulent with a caudex, which develops a characteristic tuberous and branched caudiciform base, partially covered by a grayish bark that can peel off with age. The stems are short, erect, and sparsely branched, although they can form small clusters. The plant usually reaches approximately 7 cm in height and up to 15 cm in diameter.

The leaves are very fleshy, dorsiventrally compressed, rounded, oblanceolate, and occasionally obovate or linear in shape, measuring approximately 1–4 cm in length. The base narrows in a cuneate fashion and the apex is rounded or obtuse. The surface features a grayish-green or whitish hue, produced in part by a waxy layer, and may show small translucent greenish-gray, maroon, or purple spots. Specimens practically without spots also exist. The margin is horny, wavy, or slightly crenulate, and can acquire reddish or violet tones. The leaves detach with relative ease, an important adaptation in drought conditions.

🌍 Distribution, habitat, and family
Family Crassulaceae. It is the nominal subspecies of Adromischus schuldtianus and its natural range is found in central Namibia, within desert and arid shrubland environments. It grows primarily in cracks of granite outcrops and hills, frequently in sheltered or shaded positions among the rocks. This location explains its reduced aerial system and the development of a caudex capable of storing water.

❄️ Temperature
USDA Zone 9b–11b. It tolerates minimum temperatures down to −1 ºC, provided it remains completely dry, although due to its desert origin and small size, it is preferable to avoid prolonged exposure to damp cold. Wet substrate during cold periods significantly increases the risk of rot in the caudex and roots.

☀️ Lighting
Indicative DLI PAR: 15–25 mol·m⁻²·day⁻¹. It needs intense lighting to maintain compact growth and encourage the expression of grayish, reddish, or purple hues. In its habitat, it usually grows partially protected by rocks, so it is not necessary to suddenly expose it to direct sun. A very bright exposure is recommended, with progressive acclimatization to the sun and light protection during the hours of peak radiation during extreme heat episodes.

💧 Growth cycle and watering
The species comes from a desert environment with highly irregular rainfall, so it should not be kept permanently moist. Its activity can occur opportunistically when temperature and humidity conditions are favorable.

During growth periods, it is recommended to water abundantly and allow the substrate to dry completely before watering again. When temperatures are very high, it may slow its activity significantly and it will be necessary to space out waterings. In winter, with low temperatures, it is advisable to keep it practically dry. The caudex allows it to endure prolonged periods without water, so it is better to err on the side of dryness rather than maintaining constant moisture.

🌸 Flowering
It produces a narrow and elevated terminal inflorescence, approximately 20–40 cm, much taller than the size of the plant. The flowers appear individually or in small groups. The corolla tube is pale green, covered by a whitish bloom, while the lobes are white or slightly pink and feature a characteristic deep mauve throat. The buds are cylindrical and longitudinally striated. Flowering occurs approximately towards the austral summer between July and September.

During active growth periods, Desert CHOICE® Succulents is recommended, applied after watering. Before flowering, it can be supplemented with Desert CHOICE® Flowering. Fertilizing is not recommended during rest periods caused by intense cold, extreme heat, or prolonged drought.
