Originally from Venezuela , also called Cardón Guajiro.

Its fruit is known as "Iguaraya" by the Wayús people since it has a high protein content and this cactus can reach 10m in height.

It needs direct sun and can tolerate temperatures down to 0º.

It blooms between February and May and its irrigation is recommended between March and September.
