🌱 Morphology
A slow-growing succulent hybrid that forms compact rosettes, typically 8–20 cm in diameter, and produces offsets, forming clumps with age. The leaves are short, firm, and triangular, dark green, and can take on reddish or purplish hues with cold, drought, or intense light. They measure up to about 10 cm in length and 3.5 cm in width. Its most striking feature is the large, white, hemispherical tubercles distributed over the leaf surfaces. The apex ends in a small point or bristle.

🌍 Distribution, habitat, and family
This is an intergeneric hybrid of horticultural origin, so it has no natural distribution or habitat. It was historically disseminated by hybrid specialist Gordon Rowley. The exact parentage is not reliably documented. Gasteria carinata var. verrucosa × Haworthiopsis viscosa has been proposed, but older attributions to other parents also circulate, so they should not be presented as definitive. It belongs to Asphodelaceae.

❄️ Temperature
USDA 9a–11b. It is quite hardy for a small succulent and tolerates temperatures near 0 °C if kept completely dry. For pot cultivation in Madrid, I recommend 2–5 °C as a practical minimum, avoiding prolonged cold with moist substrate. Some old sources indicate tolerance to light frosts, but I do not consider it prudent to use lower temperatures as a commercial guarantee.

☀️ Lighting
Plenty of light, but preferably filtered light or soft sun, avoiding extremely intense summer exposure without acclimatization. Goal during active growth: 12–20 mol·m⁻²·day⁻¹ of DLI PAR. Excessively low light can cause elongated leaves and loss of the compact rosette; too much light and drought can intensify reddish tones.

💧 Growth cycle
Opportunistic, growing whenever it has moderate temperatures and water, although it can slow down with both winter cold and extreme heat. Water thoroughly and allow the substrate to dry completely before the next watering. During winter, space out waterings much more if temperatures are low.

🌸 Flowering
It produces long, arched or spreading flower stalks, which can reach approximately 1 m. The flowers are tubular, slightly widened, about 2 cm: the buds have pink tones on the lower part and greenish-gray on the upper part, while the open tepals are whitish with a pronounced central green line. In cultivation, it flowers mainly in summer.

🌿 Nutrition
During active growth, use Desert CHOICE® Aloes, Haworthia & Co., with calcium and potassium. Fertilize moderately and reduce or suspend during periods of cold, extreme heat, or very slow growth.
