🌱 Morphology
 Small, highly branched, perennial succulent with a decumbent to erect habit, which can reach about 15 cm in height and diameter. The stems are short and fleshy and frequently develop numerous fine aerial roots, especially in adult specimens.

The leaves are very fleshy, approximately 1.5–3 × 1–1.7 cm, broadly obtriangular, flattened on the upper surface and convex on the lower. The most distinctive feature is its wavy, horny apical margin, which may have a crenulated or scalloped appearance. The apex is obtuse, rounded, or slightly truncated. The leaves are green to yellowish-green and generally lack the dark spots characteristic of other Adromischus species. The surface can be glabrous or have fine glandular hairs.

🌍 Distribution, habitat and family
Family Crassulaceae. The nominate variety is endemic to the Eastern Cape, South Africa, where it appears mainly in areas of Valley Bushveld and Noorsveld. It grows in cracks and fissures of rocky outcrops, on sandstones and shales, usually in places with very little soil and extremely fast drainage. The rocks and surrounding vegetation provide some protection against radiation and extreme temperatures.

❄️ Temperature
USDA Zone 9b–11b. Tolerates minimum temperatures down to −3 ºC, provided that the substrate remains completely dry and exposure is sporadic. This tolerance should not be confused with resistance to prolonged frosts: cold combined with humidity considerably increases the risk of rot.

☀️ Lighting
Guideline DLI PAR: 12–20 mol·m⁻²·day⁻¹. It needs intense lighting to maintain compact growth and correctly develop the characteristic shape of the leaves. It can be grown in mild sun or very bright light, but progressive acclimatization to direct sun is recommended. During episodes of extreme heat, it is advisable to protect it from the most intense radiation during the central hours of the day to avoid burns and overheating.

💧 Growth cycle and irrigation
Opportunistic. Due to its origin in the Eastern Cape, with predominantly summer but variable rainfall, it is not suitable to impose an absolute winter rest. Growth is favored when temperatures are moderate and water is available.

During active periods, it is recommended to water abundantly and let the substrate dry completely before the next watering. When summer temperatures are excessively high, it may slow down and it will be necessary to space out watering until it reactivates. During the cold winter, watering should be notably reduced and the plant kept practically dry. The presence of aerial roots allows it to take advantage of small amounts of ambient humidity, but this does not mean the plant needs permanent humidity.

🌸 Flowering
It produces a terminal inflorescence that can reach approximately 30 cm, rising considerably above the plant. The flowers appear in small cymes and have a greenish-gray cylindrical tube, with white to pink triangular lobes and a darker line on the margins. The throat has characteristic glandular hairs.

Natural flowering is concentrated between June and August, depending on temperature and the time of vegetative activation.

🌿 Nutrition
During active growth periods, Desert CHOICE® Succulents is recommended, applied after watering. Before flowering, it can be supplemented with Desert CHOICE® Flowering. It is not recommended to fertilize during periods of intense cold, extreme heat, or lack of growth.
